The Best Celebrity Apartments in New York
For most people living in New York, finding a room with its own closet in a shared apartment is about as good as it gets. The thought of a walk-in closet, a balcony, or dare I say—actual outdoor space, is near unimaginable. But then there are the lucky famous few who manage to score the best properties in the city—spaces so large and immaculate that for a moment you could actually think that you’re staying at a grand estate in the English countryside as opposed to a Midtown townhouse. That is the greatest luxury in New York after all—being able to afford a space so large that you can create your own island of tranquility within the surrounding chaos. That’s exactly what these celebrities did.
- Taylor Swift’s Tribeca Penthouse
Swift paid a cool $19.95 million for this 8,300 square foot (!) 7-bedroom, 5.5- bath property and the 3-bedroom apartment next door that houses her security team. The penthouse comes complete with rustic wooden floors and exposed ceiling beams that give it the sort of country vibe befitting of Swift.

Swift has a thing for red clearly and it shows in her choice of paint and carpeting. Our favorite is the massive living room space with near wall-to-wall windows.

Who says you can only afford to live large down South? Swift proves that you can do it anywhere.
- Cameron Diaz’s West Village Pre-War Apartment
Technically Diaz has two apartments in New York, having plunked down $9 million for another apartment in the art deco Walker Tower a couple years back, but the older one is our favorite. At 2,400 square feet, what it lacks in size in comparison to Swift’s penthouse, it more than makes up for in interior design. Diaz contracted the famous West Coast based Kelly Wearstler to give the place some color and Wearstler did not hold back.

The kitchen especially is a masterpiece with its emerald and brass cabinetry and black stained wooden floors.

- Leonardo DiCaprio’s Greenwich Village Pad
There is something a little bit more austere and masculine about DiCaprio’s place in comparison to the warm tones of Swift and Diaz’s apartments, but one can perfectly imagine any of his model girlfriends draped over the black metal spiraling staircase or the white leather couches.

DiCaprio is going to be out of town for a little while apparently, as he recently rented out his unit in the health-conscious Delos Development for a hefty $25,000 a month.

- Mary Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy’s Midtown Townhouse
Last but certainly not least, is the Olsen-Sarkozy’s immaculate $13.5 million home. The 5-bedroom townhouse comes complete with a ballroom and a private garden with a fountain.

Judging by the pictures, this place seriously does not look like it’s in New York.

The couple even managed to score a deal…sort of…The original asking price was $16.5 million. We would expect nothing less grand for New York’s most elegant fashionista and French pair.
